Dr. Rowen Martin (interim) coordinator
Rowan has been researching and working to conserve parrots for close to 20 years. In 2012 he joined the World Parrot Trust, spearheading the development of the Africa Conservation Programme, which aims to understand and address threats to Africa’s most threatened species. His work has a strong focus on implementing impactful evidence-based interventions to end harmful trade in parrots both in Africa and beyond. He has a PhD from the University of Sheffield and is a Research Associate at the Fitzpatrick Institute of African Ornithology at the University of Cape Town. Having recently discovered yoga, he can now touch his toes.
