Dr Tiwonge I Mzumara-Gawa is an ornithologist and ecologist in the Biological Sciences department at the Malawi University of Science and Technology as a lecturer in ecology. Previously she served as the ornithologist at the Museums of Malawi. Tiwonge parrot research is on the Lilian's lovebird, understanding its ecology in the wild and measures to conserve. She is also currently working to update the national status of Malawi's 4 parrot species.
