Support the leadership as an active and productive team member.
Agree to time commitments and deadlines as needed.
For Thematic Groups, contribute to focus on key conservation threats, remedies and recovery and collaborate with Geographical Subgroups.
For Geographical Subgroups, contribute to collecting and processing information informing the Key Conservation Issues facing the Psittaciformes in the geographical region.
Have a good working knowledge of parrots in their geographical area of
expertise and actively contribute to the Wild Parrot Specialist Group and collaborations between members.
Provide technical advice to the Co-chairs and other leaders.
Be actively informed and contribute to discussions.
Act at all times in the best interest of the Wild Parrot Specialist Group, IUCN,
SSC, and parrot research and conservation
Agree to inform leadership and seek their assistance to directly address individuals with whom conflict or disagreement arises and seek to promote
collaborative and compassionate discussion;
Abide by the WPaSG guidelines and ground rules.
Treat all discussions, meetings, documents and other communications withconfidentiality and discretion. The safety of the psittacines and people whowork with them depend on compliance with this.
3. Thematic/Geographical Subgroups Members: Commitments.
Read, understand and accept their responsibilities as set out in this Terms ofReference.
Contribute productive transparency, democracy, equality, equanimity, and consensus within the subgroup.
Declare real or perceived conflicts of interest.
Be committed to the aims of the WPaSG and understand the importance of their contributions to its success.
Be clear when advice is given as an individual and is not the advice/position of
the WPaSG.
Participate in a work plan set up for the subgroup by the Vice-chair or Coordinator and the Co-chairs.
No independent actions representing WPaSG in an official capacity without consultation of the leadership.
Provide data and content as well as progress updates for the IUCN portals and SSC reports as required.
Meet or contact with the leaders monthly and/or as needed to provide updates.
Present or submit reports and regular updates as needed.
Respond to communications in a timely manner and in accordance with timelines and deadlines.
Understand that inactivity or consistent failure to respond to commitments will result in “inactive” membership status.
Recognize the importance of timely response to requests.
Treat all discussions, meetings, documents and other communications with confidentiality and discretion. The safety of the psittacines and people who work with them depend on compliance with this.
Understand that unauthorized use of the WPaSG logo or IUCN, IUCN SSC logos is expressly forbidden.
